OPENING/GENERAL SESSIONS:

  • General sessions/Opening will be Wednesday, March 15th at 8:00 PM
  • Attire for opening sessions is the HOSA uniform or black or Navy suit with white shirt. Navy or black closed toed shoes. Please see the dress code for any questions.
  • Students not dressed properly will be turned away and not allowed on stage for any awards they may receive. Advisors should dress professionally.

RECOGNITON SESSION and AWARDS CEREMONY:

  • Recognition Session will be Friday, March 17th at 10:00 AM
  • Awards ceremony will be Friday, March 17th at 12:30 PM
  • Invite family, friends, and other interested individuals to show support for your SC HOSA students
  • There is no charge to attend the awards ceremony
  • HOSA members are required to wear conference t-shirts and black, blue, khaki slacks, or knee-length skirts (no jeans, no denim, no shorts & no capris), with comfortable closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals) to the awards ceremony

TESTING:

ONLINE TESTING- All events that are testing only, first round testing, Epidemiology and Extemporaneous Writing will be proctored and taken the week prior to the conference (March 6 -10)

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS:

We will begin accepting applications December 1, 2022 through February 1, 2023.

  • Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2023. After this date scholarship applications will not be accepted.
  • Scholarship reference letters may be uploaded by using this LINK. The letters should be in PDF format only.

STATE OFFICER APPLICATIONS

    • Read the requirements carefully and recommend only qualified students.
    • Deadline for Officer application is, February 1st.  After this date, applications will NOT be accepted.
    • Officer Candidate reference letters may be uploaded by using this LINK, in PDF format only.
    • Officer candidate interviews is posted on the SC HOSA Calendar. Officer candidates and advisors will be contacted regarding directions and interview times.

REMINDERS:

  • 2023 Competitive Event Information and Guidelines
  • Competitors must bring all items noted with *** in the materials section of the guidelines for each event
  • The HOSA Code of Conduct must be followed at all times by advisors and students
  • All phones should be in the off position during competitions, general sessions and awards sessions
  • Only two teams per school may participate in Health Career Displays.
  • Deadline for Barbara James & National Service Project online verification for state conference recognition is March 1st.  You must be REGISTERED for the event to be recognized.  You may continue to log hours for national recognition.
